Rules and Regulations

Classroom Rules:

1. All rules and regulations of Bethlehem Catholic H.S. are to be used and obeyed in and out of the classroom.
2. Students must be respectful of the teacher and other students.
3. No food, candy, or drink is allowed in the classroom.
1. Because of food allergies this is critical and CANNOT be tolerated.
   
4. The bathroom must be used before or after class!  Only the first 2 students to ask before class starts may leave.
5. Books must be covered at all times.
6. Assignments may not be turned in after the due date unless a legitimate absence warrants more time.
7. Students must have all work, textbook, notebook, etc. with them at the start of class. 
   
8. No IPad or other note taking device will be used in Mr. Tkach's room.  They are not necessary for his classes.
   

Assignments and Grading

1. Grades will be done by using a total points system.  Everything will be worth a certain amount of total points and you earn a separate total of points.  Dividing your points earned into the total points of all assignments will give you your average grade. 
2. Classroom participation is judged on in-class participation, work completion, effort, and overall attitude. A perfect score on this is hard and is selective!!!
3. Here are samples of points:  (these are not set in stone and can be changed)

·Tests: 100 points

·Quizzes: 20-40 points

·Class work/Homework:  10-20 Points

·Essay/Projects: 50- 100 points (test grade)

·Class participation:  100 points (test grade)      

Absences:

1. I WILL NOT chase you for work following an absence.  It is your responsibility to get your work from the website/other students/or me when you return.
   
2. When absent always check the class website for work.
1. When you return to class please see me to make sure you have all the work.
3. When you are absent the day before or the day of the quiz/test it is my discretion as to how the quiz/test will be made up.
   
1. You will be granted the time provided in the student handbook to finish all work after an absence.
2. A make-up will be different than the original and may exclude word banks/ multiple choice/etc.  In their place may be short answer and/or essays.
   
4. If you knew about an assignment/test/homework before being absent you are required to have that done when you return.
1. During the year there may be some schedule changes due to weather.
   
2. If a test/quiz/assignment is due on a snow day or similar cancellation day the due date is moved to the very next day we return.
