Transportation Policy for Student Athletes
The following is the Transportation Policy for Bethlehem Catholic High School Student Athletes and is effective July 1, 2010 for all sports:
· Student athletes participating in athletic events more than twenty (20) miles from the school will be provided transportation both to and from the event.
· Student athletes participating in athletic events less than twenty (20) miles from the school will be provided transportation to the event. Return transportation after the event will be the responsibility of the students’ parents or legal guardian.
This includes individual games or matches, tournaments, playoffs, meets, etc. The coaches for each sport will advise their teams during the season regarding the team travel arrangements for their sporting events.
Student athletes, with their parents consent, will be able to travel both to and from athletic events by automobile. These policy exceptions however must be requested, in writing, by the parents and submitted to the coach for his/her approval in advance.
When a student misses provided transportation for any reason, it is the parents or legal guardians’ sole responsibility and liability to make their own arrangements for transportation to the athletic event for the student.
This policy will remain in effect until revised or cancelled.
