Honors Algebra 1 Policy Mrs. Little Items Needed for Class: Be prepared for every class with the textbook, Algebra1,Glencoe McGraw-Hill; a binder, loose-leaf paper; pencils; red pen; and a calculator. Please cover your textbook. Classes: This is an HONORS class. You are to pay attention; participate; take notes; complete assignments on time; correct homework, quizzes and tests; and study extremely hard. Perfect attendance contributes to your success. Homework: Homework is assigned daily and checked regularly. You must show work. NO ANSWERS ONLY. If you leave school early or arrive late and miss class, get the homework assignment from the Beca website. If you have 3 incomplete homework assignments in a quarter, I will call you parents. The textbook, along with extra practice problems, is available online at algebra1.com. The username is ALG1 and the password is wRec84ehed. Quizzes and Tests: There will be three tests and approximately six announced quizzes each quarter. There will also be pop quizzes. Papers and projects are graded as quizzes or tests depending upon the complexity of the assignment. Sufficient notice is given for all tests. Grading: Tests are 50%, quizzes are approximately 40%, and homework is 10% of the quarter grade. THERE IS NO EXTRA CREDIT. Extra Help: There is tutoring every Tuesday from 2:30 PM until 3:15 PM. You may also get help every day before homeroom. Absences from Class: Students, who are absent from class, are responsible for all material (classwork, notes, homework) covered during their absence. If you are absent only on the day of an announced quiz or test, you take the quiz or test on the day you return. If your absence is longer, see me to make arrangements to make up the quiz or test. If you are absent, check file folder on the closet door for corrected tests, quizzes, homework, or handouts. Cheating Policy: See the school handbook for the policy concerning cheating. Copying classwork, homework, papers, and projects as well as giving and receiving answers on tests and quizzes are considered cheating. On every test and quiz, students must write and sign the Affirmation of Honesty.
