The Business Department affords students the opportunity to prepare for effective living.  Students need to have an understanding and an appreciation of the role that business plays in our society.  Our program strives to contribute to the general education of students, as well as to provide them with the necessary skills and knowledge for employment.

In accordance with the aims of Catholic Education, Christian social principles are simultaneously inculcated in order to develop a sense of social justice and moral values.

ACCOUNTING 1
This course provides students with an overview of basic accounting concepts.  Students develop the ability to analyze and record transactions and to interpret the results of business operations from a financial standpoint.

PERSONAL/BUSINESS LAW 
This course provides students with a knowledge of the legal environment and the practical guidelines for becoming effective citizens and consumers.  This course is for seniors.

MARKETING & MANAGEMENT
The course is designed to give the student an understanding of the marketing and business management fields.  The course will explore the marketing principles and practices of the retail and industrial fields; as well as, discuss and apply management skills and practices used in the workplace.

The course uses current business publications allowing students the opportunity to discuss and apply principles learned in class.  This course is for seniors.

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING
Qualified students from the Junior and Senior classes may start their college experience on-campus at Bethlehem Catholic with a college course taught by DeSales University in our Distance Learning Lab.  Financial Accounting is a one-semester course that introduces the student to the accounting information that is needed by the people outside of a business such as: creditors, investors, government agencies, and financial analysts.  Students will earn 3 college credits from DeSales University that are transferable.

Prerequisite: Excel Spreadsheet  
MANAGERIAL ACCOUNTING
Managerial Accounting introduces the student to the fundamental concepts associated with accounting information that is useful in managing the operations of a business.  Students will earn 3 college credits from DeSales University that are transferable.

Prerequisite: Financial Accounting
