Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS)

PJAS is a statewide organization of junior and senior high school students designed to stimulate and promote interest in science through the development of research projects and investigations. The state is divided into 10 regions. We compete in region 3. Projects may be submitted in the following areas:  behavioral science, biochemistry, biology, botany,  chemistry,  computer science, earth and space, ecology, math, microbiology, physics and zoology.

In February, the students present their projects at the regional meet. First place winners at the regional meets go on to present projects at the state meeting at Penn State University in May. They are housed on campus from Sunday-Tuesday for this experience. All projects are individual.
